CROSSINGS
Stories that cross borders. Words that don’t ask permission to exist.
MADEIRA
DE VENTO
Tótinha who is Derico, Pinduca who never stops eating, the heavy air and forest humidity that bathe the Boqueirão favela under a sky of crime. It begins on the outskirts of Belém do Pará and breaks through borders.
Lerato and Nadege fleeing Haiti before puberty — a childhood stolen at the break of dawn, swallowed by the black waters of the Caribbean night. This saga of courageous teenagers and their families describes how immigrants survive when staying is not an option.
The fury of traffickers, Haitian gangs, the “people smugglers”, the search for safety. Femicide, child trafficking, arms trafficking, everything — living side by side with love, loyalty, and hope. A realistic narrative, based on real people, real places, real stories. A book you cannot put down.
MADEIRA
DE VENTO
A narrative that spans continents and generations, where each character bears the weight of a border—real or imaginary.
Madeira de Vento is the first title in the Travessias Collection: a work that does not ask permission to say what needs to be said. Based on real stories, real routes, real people.
Patric Berjeaut
Born in São Paulo in the 1970s, the son of immigrants — a French father and an Italo-Portuguese mother. Multicultural education at a demanding German school. With a multifaceted and consistently successful career, he developed a sharp critical vision of the human soul and its relationship with diverse social and geopolitical realities.
Jorge Veloso
Brazilian, specialist in marketing, art director, graphic designer, and father. Married to his family and his work, this artist’s touch spans the world across events, shows, sports, magazines, websites, and books. Jorge is the Latin soul that lends the colours of life to our stories.
